I’m excited because, for the first time in a while, I have a guest interview for you today! I’m joined by Joey Percia, former fitness pro turned current copywriter and marketing consultant. He is also one of the speakers at the upcoming Canadian Fitness Business Summit.

Joey knows how to write words that sell, which is the essence of copywriting. We hear about how he initially hated the idea of selling. He has turned that attitude around and now works side-by-side with some of the most reputable companies that he has looked up to for years.

As the high-performing businessperson that you are, I’m sure that having more income is a goal of yours this year. I want to praise you for that because there were so many times when I thought that wanting more money was a bad thing, but it’s actually not.

I hear so many people say things like “I’m not doing it for the money,” but if you tell yourself that, you’re telling yourself a lie. Everyone usually has a financial goal they’d like to hit when they start their business. I’ll tell you the goals I had when I started mine and how the relationship around financial goals can feel like a struggle when they’re really not.

Joe and I were in Jamaica for a week to celebrate the wedding of two of our clients. We travel a lot, but it’s usually based on going to conferences with a couple of days at the end for sightseeing.

If it wasn’t for this wedding, we probably would have never gone on an all-inclusive vacation. We had the best time ever! We had a massive plan to be productive while still relaxing, but none of that productivity happened. And that’s okay! I came back and I’m so relaxed and have so much clarity.

I talk today about how getting a business off the ground is a lot like getting an airplane off the ground (trust me). You’ll hear tips about how to build a social following and credibility.
